Dr. Anne Chapas, a dermatologist in New York City, explained to Meredith Vieira how she used Fraxel, Thermage, and Isolaz to help the patients with a variety of skin problems, including skin laxity, acne, and sun spots—all without going under the knife.

Jill, a 40-something with years of skin damage from the sun, received Fraxel restore treatment. Dr. Chapas explains that Fraxel gives energy that stimulates new skin cells to grow and gives a refreshed appearance to skin, making it look more youthful and healthy.

Of the treatment, Jill says, “I’m thrilled. It really got rid of so much of the sun damage that I could see. It just makes me feel like I have fresh, new skin.”

Dr. Chapas estimates that it usually takes 1 to 3 treatments to see results. After treatment, patients may have a few days of redness and a little dryness, according to the doctor.

Lisa, a new mom, received Thermage treatment on her stomach. She says she had a lot of extra flab in her mid section after her second child.  Thermage tightened her belly and helps her fit better in her clothes.

Thermage can also be used to tighten the face. Lisa B. was suffering from skin discoloration, breakouts and blotches, and looseness. She first received Thermage treatment, which helped tighten her skin and build collagen, followed by Fraxel the next week to help even out her skin tone.

Thermage and Fraxel treatments are available at Dr. Stacy’s Bellevue, Washington office. She is the number one Thermage provider in the state of Washington and patients frequently travel from southwest and eastern Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and Oregon for Thermage treatment. Burn Treatment Center Receives Free Fraxel Restore Laser

Monday, January 18th, 2010

The Grossman Burn Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Grossman Burn GBFlogoCenter, has this week announced that Solta Medical Inc. has donated a Fraxel re:store laser system to the Burn Center, offering immediate benefits to Burn Center patients.

The Fraxel system will be used to reduce the appearance of scarring caused by traumatic thermal damage. The Burn Center is a worldwide leader in innovative treatment and care for burn patients and their families.

In making the donation, the Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Solta Medical, Inc., Stephen J. Fanning, applauded the Grossman Burn Foundation’s efforts to provide highly-skilled non-profit reconstructive surgery to treat patients’ scars and help their recovery, adding that “The Grossman Burn Foundation is well known for their humanitarian efforts to assist burn victims and their families throughout the world…”

And it’s true. The Grossman Burn Foundation provides burn care and medical resources in developing countries all over the globe, including a burn center in Kabul and a physician triage training program for doctors in underdeveloped countries. The Foundation is also involved in the development and distribution of satellite based telemedicine equipment to doctors and first responders all over the globe. The donation of the Fraxel system, therefore, was a natural fit for Solta Medical, a world leader in the laser skin resurfacing technology.

“The goal of restorative burn care is to return the patient to as close to pre-injury status as possible…” said Rebecca Grossman, the Chair of the Grossman Burn Foundation. “We plan to use the cutting-edge Fraxel technology to restore our burn-injured patients and play a key role in providing better and faster patient outcomes.”

Thermage Inc. – Repackaged, Rebranded as Solta Medical

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Thermage Inc. has undergone significant changes after acquiring the fractional laser manufacturer Reliant Technologies.

“Solta Medical” has become the new corporate name and a new logo has been created for the Thermage product.

The acquisition of Reliant Tech was initiated last year and recently finalized.  Reliant Tech was known for making the succesful brand of Fraxel laser skin resurfacing systems, which are now also under the umbrella of Solta Medical.

Thermage and Fraxel also feature new, more user-friendly websites that show an obvious departure from their previous, more clinical designs.

A new stock ticker symbol will be recognized as “SLTM” on the Nasdaq.

In a recent press release, Solta President Stephen J. Fanning commented, “the name and ticker symbol changes are a great start to the New Year and a key milestone in the integration of the acquisition of Reliant Technologies Inc.”

Reliant Technologies Honored by Inc. Magazine

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Reliant Technologies Inc., maker of Fraxel laser systems, was recently ranked 157th on Inc. Magazines list of the top 500 fastest growing companies and eighth among American health companies.

Fraxel Makes the Inc. 500

Reliant is known for their advanced laser technology, which has quickly become the standard in the fast-growing aesthetics market. Increases of the sales of their Fraxel laser systems (a 1450 percent increase) over the past 3 years has largely contributed to the company’s success.

The criteria for Inc. magazine’s prestigious list is dependent on dramatic revenue growth. Companies must also be private, for-profit, U.S. based and not a subsidiary of another corporation. According to the magazine’s editor Jane Berentson, “If you want to find out which companies are going to change the world, look at the Inc. 500.”

In response to the ranking, CEO Eric Stang said, “We are pleased to be included in such a prestigious group of fast growing, successful companies that have been chosen by Inc. magazine.”

Chief technology officer Len DeBenedictis explained their rapid growth and success as a direct result of the success of Fraxel lasers used in aesthetic practices, saying, “We’ve seen continuous dramatic growth in the demand for Fraxel treatments as consumers become more aware of the safety and efficacy of our unique suite of skin rejuvenation products.”
